Day Four - Hill End

Along the Hill End Rd from Mudgee to Hill End there are
several of these old deserted farm houses.

New meets old in the village of Hargraves.

One way of keeping down the grass.

No Westfield here yet.

Great letterbox but a little late to save his eyesight.

Old Tambaroora cemetary.

Hill End then and now, nothing has changed.

Presbyterian Church.

Hill End, a town built on gold in the early 1870's.

The Royal Hotel, only surviver of the 52 bubs built
in the district.
Lyles cottage.

The former hospital, now National Parks office and museum.

Beaufoy Merlin Lookout.

Hill End from Bald Hill Lookout.

Gold of a different kind, dust from the road at Meroo.

  1. Some good Hill End photos in there. Lucky you got there before the rain. How are you're charges going, you are 'animal' sitting between tourist activities !
